Why leaders and people with responsibility should consider having Chiropractic care
Why leaders and people with responsibility would benefit from Chiropractic care
There are many reasons people come to a Chiropractic clinic, such as ours, for Chiropractic care. However specific job roles, hobbies or sports often require different demands on our physical or mental health. Whilst i’m sure you can think of a couple of reasons why a leader or someone with a position of responsibility may opt to come in for care, you may also be surprised by some of the other things on this short list.
Leaders may not only refer to leaders in business (such as CEOs, COOs, Owners, Managers or Directors) for the purpose of this blog. It may also include other people in positions of responsibility such as people in the military (Army, Royal Air Force, Navy), Police, NHS workers, Nurses, Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, Healthcare professionals, Mums and Dads, Carers, People with a community role. The list goes on…
As always if you want to pop in for a check, the first step is our onboarding process, which includes an initial consultation and treatment. Click here to book using our quick and safe online booking system, or here for more information about what to expect.
Reason 1 : Self care benefits
Leaders and people with positions of responsibility, as with anyone else, deserve some time for self care. Self care is anything but selfish care: If you don’t look after yourself first, you really don’t have much chance with helping anyone else as effectively.
Chiropractic is effective at helping a number of conditions. These include back pain, neck pain and headaches. But did you also know that Chiropractors can assist with the inability to relax, or some of the secondary effects of tension on your body, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues? Indeed many of our patients report that they feel both lighter and stronger after their sessions.
Reason 2: Powerful leaders make powerful leaders
This one may sound strange, but it’s not just about making you feel better. Just think about it. Take an amazing team with a CEO, leader or responsible person that is only firing at 20%. The team may still shine their light brightly for some time. But, after a few weeks the effect of the ill-performing leader will affect the whole team. This may be in terms of motivation, getting the job done, sales or conversions. Whatever.
A manager, leader or person of responsibility with aches and pains is undoubtedly not going to function at their best. Attention, energy or motivation often becomes affected as both brain and body have to work through the pain barrier to keep going.
Affecting your leader qualities and clout as a person with responsibility
Body language and subconscious communication due to masking pain and resulting poor postures could also affect your bottom line. Alternatively it may affect how people see, respect or interact with you.
And it’s not just about business. Let’s not forget the responsible mum or dad and their influence on their children. As exaggerated as this may sound, the things you tell your children they will emulate later. Putting up with pain or showing it’s okay to soldier on through until you burn out often isn’t what many mums and dad’s want their children to be doing: So why are you allowing yourself to do it?
Reason 3: Leaders can affect their communities in a bigger way if they are firing at their optimum
What would you rather have? A police officer, fireman / firewoman, paramedic, nurse or military hero that is feeling fit and fired up. Or, a police officer, fireman / firewoman, paramedic, nurse or military hero that is feeling foggy in terms of mind and body?
What if a life depended on it? What if your life depended on it?
Firing yourself up as a leader with some self care
There isn’t bags and bags of good quality research to say that Chiropractic can directly assist with your reaction times to the point we can sing it out there from the rooftops. I’m sad to also report that the notion that Chiropractic care will make you the next superhero is a little silly. But, there are some studies to suggest that this isn’t altogether a silly notion. (For example, check out this recent study to do with running and jumping). It’s early days in terms of research, but it’s common sense from a pain management perspective at least: If you aren’t working through pain, you’re more likely to function better. If you’re leading others, who wouldn’t want that?

Reason 4: #EmpoweringWellbeing and being a health care ambassador
You’d be amazed at how many people when they first come into our clinic, have little to no knowledge about Chiropractic care. It’s common for us to be treated as a ‘last chance saloon’ for many leaders with aches and pains. It’s not uncommon for leaders to have tried lots of things themselves before coming in to see us. Similarly, not helped by the masses of really awful (or scary looking) information online that purport to be about Chiropractic, many people come to see us in a very cautious or skeptical manner or after having trusted Dr Google and frightened themselves with an incorrect self-diagnosis. We’re used to it. We understand (Our principal Chiropractor, James, was the same he first went to a Chiropractor!) But, it communicates to us that there are tons of people out there unnecessarily suffering for lack of good information or knowledge. This is something we want to change.
Building a community of empassioned healthcare ambassadors
Wouldn’t it be great if people in your community came towards self care and self improvement in a positive way rather than through a lens of being skeptical or afraid? This is where every leader with knowledge has the power to transform lives and help people beyond just helping to get rid of aches and pains. We are happy to play our part, but we are secretly forming our mini army of people who are out of aches, pains and restrictions to signpost for others.
It’s the leaders out there that are frustrated with lower performance that we love in our clinic: Not only do we like to get you out of aches and pains, but having you around makes us tune up to offer you the best service we can. Sneakily, it also means you’re also often more committed to getting the changes we hope to be able to provide and are more likely to signpost to others when you’re frustrated by watching others not performing at their best.
Building what you can do rather than what you can’t do
Let’s face it, it’s often not the pain that motivates you to come and see us in the first place. It’s what you can’t do because of the pain that brings you to our door. We’re used to this, we’ve built our clinic around this. If we can and your issue is in our remit to help, we’ll do all we can to get you to where you want to be.
The first port of call for this is our onboarding sessions where we find out more about your issue and what is creating your pain, aches and restrictions. To make it easier to signpost, we currently have a £50 off offer to reduce the price of this onboarding package. This is only available by clicking here.
Reason 5: Educating the nation that aches and pains are NOT normal
There’s one thing having aches, pains, DOMS or stiffness because you’ve pushed yourself in your hobby, sport or every day life. But as any elite athlete will tell you, sustained injury, poor performance or mindset can easily get out of control if you don’t do something about it fast.
Address the cause of pain not the symptom
You’ll be amazed at how much people use pain as a crutch to every day life. However it really shouldn’t be this way for many. I’m obviously not talking about those with more severe pain based conditions that need to be managed carefully. However, those that rely on daily over the counter medications for their niggles and aches are masking their symptoms and often forgetting to address the cause of the pain in the first place.
Have a person in your office that keeps bringing everyone else down because they have aches and pains? The long term answer is often not to put in some workplace wellbeing or ergonomics courses, or give them longer at lunch so they can head to the pharmacy. Whilst these will undoubtedly help, often its about getting behind the real cause of the pain. It often isn’t that office chair, despite it always getting the blame.
Understanding pain and the cost of pain
Pain is a warning sign that something isn’t working at it’s best within the body. We know that everyone experiences pain differently from each other and that is because the sensation of pain is created by our neurological system, particularly our brain. Isn’t it time to turn off the alarm and sort out the issue, as opposed to just clicking ‘snooze’ on the alarm?
From a business perspective, aches and pains cost business owners, leaders and people in responsibility billions of pounds in downtime each year. That’s the true cost of letting people go for the quick fix patch up solution than one that may actually help or get to the route of the issue.
Don’t be fooled. Prices look higher on the website, but with the care plan offers given when you start it’s been cheaper than many others and better value. James also really cares and knows his stuff. I wont be going to anyone else again. James is the person that will get you out of pain.

Only through seeing James at Connective Chiropractic have I realised there is a pain relief option for me that balances immediate with longer term benefits. I walk out of the clinic after each session with my head held higher, feeling taller and freer to go about my daily life. James’ holistic approach to pain management, physical health and mental wellbeing means you really do get your money’s worth, he totally invests in his clients recovery and on top of that he does it all with cracking sense of humour.
Reason 6: Getting on with it quickly and quietly
At Connective Chiropractic, we know you’re busy and things need to be done safely, securely, confidentially and professionally.
Confidential and professional care
For many, not least those in the military, army, RAF, navy or any of the services, you might not want others to know you’re getting treatment. For all, we know confidentiality and discretion is key.
It’s one reason why we are registered, accredited and highly trained so that we can see you without need of a GP referral. No one else need know unless you want or need us to (or unless we have a legal duty to inform someone, but that’s highly rare!)
Easy to book in
Furthermore, we make it as easy as we can for you to fit your treatments with us around your schedules with appointments available early in the morning, later in the evening and also on Sundays. (We remain one of few clinics in the country that are open on a Sunday). We have an online booking system so you can easily book in at any time of the day.
Invoices and receipts as standard. If you can claim back, you can!
We’ll give invoices and receipts as standard after each session so that if you can claim back the cost of your care, you can. You don’t even need to ask. What’s more to love than that?
